Samsung today unveiled the Galaxy Note Edge, a phablet with a curved edge similar to the YOUM smartphone Samsung showed back at CES 2013. The idea behind the device is to use the curved section for multiple purposes to facilitate greater use of the main screen while being able to easily view and deal with notifications and toggles from the curved edge.
In terms of specification, the Edge is almost like the Note 4’s twin except with a 5.6 inch screen instead of the Note 4’s 5.7 inches and the slightly smaller battery. What really is intriguing about the Edge is how developers could potentially use this unique hardware feature to offer functionality and capabilities exclusive to the device. The Edge will reportedly be priced slightly higher than the Note 4 and also produced in limited quantities. It will launch in October in black and white colour options.
