Ah the 16GB iPhone, one of the many things in 2016 that makes me FURIOUS. Don’t get me wrong, iPhones are seriously awesome gadgets but Apple’s 16GB iPhones are the tech-equivalent of a scam. Given how mobile applications have bloated in size and also how Apple now uses a 12MP camera sensors AND enabled 4K video recording, that 16GB fills up fast. Let’s not forget the fact that you also need around 5-8GB free space when you upgrade to newer versions of iOS. SanDisk has heard the cries of online critics and grumpy customers and has released a new bumper case for the iPhone 6 an 6S that comes with a built in flash storage module.
The new iXpand Memory case plugs into the lightning port like the Mophie JuicePack and connects to your smartphone. Through USB 2.0 speeds, you can expand the storage capacity with any one of the 32GB ($60), 64GB ($100) or 128GB ($130) cases. Smart software from SanDisk allows for auto backup of images and videos and also provides encryption. To make things more convenient, SanDisk also released a compatible $40 1,9000mAh battery module that easily attaches to the iXpand Memory case.
The iXpand Memory case looks like the ideal solution to two problems that have been around for a very long time. They are available in Grey, Sky, Red and mint colours and have a limited one year warranty.
