Motorola Launches Xoom 2 Tablet

The Xoom 2 is finally here! For the time being it will be released, in the UK and Ireland only, around mid-November and for elsewhere, its yet to be announced. There will be two versions of this tablet, the normal Xoom 2 and the Xoom 2 Media edition.

Both the tablets run Honeycomb ( Android 3.2 ), have dual-core 1.2 GHZ processors , 1 GB RamWI-FI connectivity, 1.3 MP camera in front, 5MP at the back with auto focus and LED Flash. In terms of storage, both of them carry 16GB of space.

The best part of the device is that the display screen has a splash-guard coating and Corning’s Gorilla Glass. Drop it, it wont shatter, like the iPhone did in the drop test!  Each of the tablets have the MotoCast app which would allow the users to stream music and videos between the PC and their device. Nothing unique here though.

What’s the difference between the two ? Not much. The normal one has a 10.1′ screen, 10 hours of browsing, good quality battery whereas the Media edition has a 8.2′ screen and offers 6 hours of browsing.

The normal Xoom 2 has been targeted towards business users, so if you want a Xoom 2 for entertainment purposes, the Media Edition is good to go!

Apart from all these, according to Motorola, Xoom has a new best friend 😛 The Motorola Stylus, for added precision.
