Samsung galaxy S4

Confirmed specs of Galaxy S5; S5 mini and S5 Zoom to follow

While the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 drew the curtain in Las Vegas, with some ‘big bangs’ now it is time for Mobile World Congress 2014 to look forward to which will take place from 24-27 February 2-14 at Barcelona, Spain. All the tech giants will be introducing their newest arrivals and we definitely are looking forward to Samsung’s!

Although it is not yet confirmed whether Galaxy S5 will be unveiled in the coming MWC 2014, but we are now sure what’s inside the S5! According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S5 will feature 2K display i.e. an AMOLED display with resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 (approx. 561 ppi)! Although, the size are not confirmed but we are expecting it to be between 5 and 5.25- inches as rumored earlier and quite often. The beast will be powered by either Exynos 6 or a Snapdragon 805 processor which basically depends on whether the device is LTE-enabled.

The Galaxy S5 will come with Android’s latest OS i.e. KitKat out-of-the-box and is reported to come in two options: metal or plastic which will also drive the price of the device. As SamMobile has learned, the metal Galaxy S5 will be costing around 800 euro whereas, the plastic Galaxy S5 will have a price-tag of 650 euro. As for the camera, the Galaxy S5 will possess a 16 megapixel camera; but SamMobile couldn’t confirm the presence of optical image stabilization (OIS) which as a result, remains a rumor for the time being.

According to SamMobile, the announcement of the S5 will likely be held in March followed by the official launching in early April. For the time being, we look forward to other details like amount of RAM, battery capacity in the coming weeks till the day before announcement.

SamMobile also managed to confirm the launching of Galaxy S5 mini and Galaxy S5 Zoom after the official launching of Galaxy S5. The time is expected to be in June and May respectively for S5 mini and S5 Zoom.

The confirmed details of these two devices are quite minimal which includes Super AMOLED display, qHD resolution, Android 4.4 KitKat etc. But what actually made our eyebrows raised were the Galaxy S5 specs and if all the information along with many other rumors like ‘iris scanner’, 64-bit processor etc. turns out to be true; then I would say the Galaxy S5 is going to be a ‘killer’ smartphone of 2014.

Till then ‘fingers crossed’!
