HTC One Mini 2

HTC One Mini 2: Younger sibling of HTC One M8

HTC is one phone brand who never lets its users down. They might not be as feature rich as their counterpart Samsung or as posh as the iPhone but they definitely have a thing that distinguishes them from their counterparts. People who use HTC love HTC. And HTC won’t let their fans down with their new release of flagship mini phone the HTC Mini 2.

The HTC Mini 2 is the mini version of the HTC One M8 and resembles the HTC One M8 completely. Of course it’s not as powerful as its elder brother but given its size, the specs should be more than enough to power the phone to run smoothly even under heavy usage.

The design is the same as HTC One M8, and has the same look and feel to it. It has an aluminum unibody but unlike the HTC One M8 it has plastic panels around its screen, but that doesn’t make any difference on how it feels in the hand. It still looks extremely well built with super high quality finishing.

HTC mini 2 has the BoomSound speakers in their phone, which are the 2 stereo speakers something that was greatly appreciated by people for the loud and crisp sound they produced, which gave HTC an edge above its competitors.

HTC however did minimize the specs along with the size; HTC One mini 2 does not come with an Ultrapixel camera and instead has a 13 megapixel front camera and a 5 megapixel rear camera. The mini has a 4.5 inch HD screen with a resolution of 720p and is armed with a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB RAM significantly downgraded from the HTC One M8’s Quad-core 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor. It is powered by a 2100mAH battery and has a 16GB built in storage which can be expandable to 128GB with microSD card.

The HTC One Mini 2 comes out of the box with Android Kitkat 4.4.2 and has the latest HTC Sense 6. The device comes with a single LED flash unlike the M8’s dual LED flash. Also HTC One mini 2 has one rear camera unlike the HTC One M8’s dual rear camera which increases the camera functionality of the M8 drastically over any other phone in the market.

For people who like the HTC One’s premium finishing but opts in for a more pocket friendly size, the HTC One mini 2 would be perfect choice for them. It sure does not carry the monstrous power of the M8 but is more than enough for a phone of its size.
