Symphony unveils Xplorer W130 and Play W17

Symphony has released not one but two smartphones this month, adding to the already high amount of existing smartphones in the market.

The Symphony Play W17, in partnership with Banglalink, boasts as it being a 3G device although with a very low end specs. The Play W17 comes with a 3.5′ inch screen and from this you can imagine how small the device really is. It’s armed with a 1 Ghz Dual-core processor, runs on the late Android 4.2.2 OS on a 512MB RAM and has 4GB of storage space for your needs. For the price, it can be a good bargain but with a low battery at 1,300 mAh we wonder how long the device would really fare after using 3G connectivity continuously. If you live in a place where network is very poor, the 3G connectivity will use more of your battery which means, would drain the device way faster than normal. Apart from these, the devices comes with a 1.3 Megapixel rear camera with 0.3 front facing one.

For the existing Banglalink users, this phone would give them 2GB of free data, one month of hello tune subscription and 7 days of TV subscription. All this along with the device at Tk 4350.

On the other hand, the Xplorer W130 is a medium end smartphone coming with a 5-inch IPS HD Display. For the processors, it’s equipped with a 1.3Ghz quad core one and runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS. The device has a 8MP rear camera for taking good shots and a 2MP front facing one. Although the battery power is low compared to the other specs, we wish it could have been equipped with a larger one.

From the promo above, it seems like the device will be coming in three colors: Black, Red and Blue. Xplorer W130 is now available in markets carrying a price tag of BDT 12,990.
