OnePlus to start manufacturing handsets in India

Seems like OnePlus is gearing up for the next big step in its game to have a global presence. Today, OnePlus announced the plans to start manufacturing their devices in India starting at the end of 2015.

According to NDTV, the facility is planned to be at the Foxconn Rising Stars factory in Sri City (Andhra Pradesh). In order to have a more effective retail campaigns and aggressive marketing in the country, the 30,000 square feet factory will have a peak production capacity of 5 Lakh units per month.

The main goal of opening up a production facility in India is first and foremost, capture a very big market in the South Asian region and also to improve the supply of the handsets making more easily reachable to the customers.

This should, no doubt, be a good news for the OnePlus fans in India as the phones will be readily available at the end of this year.

With this announcement, OnePlus will be holding a sale on 13th October exclusively for the Indian customers to buy the OnePlus 2 without any invite!
