The OnePlus team has finally announced the most awaited device of the year, OnePlus 3. If you did not have VR viewer strapped on your face to watch the event, here are the details below.
We have reported regarding the leaks of the OnePlus 3 and the official device seems to be quite accurate! In brief, the OnePlus 3 comes with a new slim aluminum design, houses a powerful Snapdragon 820 and carries a whopping 6GB of RAM. 6GB of RAM is a lot, I tell you! The device carries a price tag of $399 which is already available for purchase and the best part, no invite needed!
The OnePlus 3 will now have a better performance than the OnePlus 2 since it’s using the much more capable Snapdragon 820 processor. For the OnePlus 2, it came with the very problematic Snapdragon 810 which kept on overheating, a problem other brands also faced. The OnePlus 3’s display is a 5.5-inches AMOLED panel (which is new) and has 64GB of storage space but again,no microSD unfortunately.
The device has a huge 16MP camera at the rear with a 8MP front-facing camera. According to OnePlus, the camera is improved this year with a lot of features. The new ‘Smart Capture’ feature includes Auto HDR, HD Mode and a dynamic De-Noise which takes several frames and merges it together with post-processing to reduce the noise that’s in the picture.
The battery in the OnePlus 3 is the same as it was in the OnePlus 2, 3000mAh. For a 5.5 inch display, its quite small. What’s new in the battery section is Dash Charge which charges the device from 0% to 61% in just 30 minutes. This is quite similar to OPPO’s VOOC and we think OnePLus is using that technology for the OnePlus 3. Quick Charge is also available but only charges the device up to 51% in 30 minutes.
All in all, the OnePlus 3 is already up for sale and there’s no need for an invite! Carrying a price taf of $399, the device will be coming in two colors: graphite and gold.
