Group video chats now available on Facebook Messenger.

Facebook Messenger now has group video chat feature. The video chat or video call feature is nothing new to anyone, not even messenger. But now, you can do it simultaneously with as many as 50 people. However, the user interface of the app will adjust to amount of users by making only the ‘dominant’ speaker visible on screen. Here, ‘dominance’ will presumably be evaluated by volume of voice. If the number of users are 6 or fewer, all of the people in the chat will be visible. This falls in line with the many small, subtle updates Facebook has been making to Facebook and Facebook Messenger.

Group video chat is apparently “the most requested Messenger feature ever.”

“With 245 million people making video calls in Messenger every month, now we’re bringing everyone on Messenger the ability to turn group chats into face-to-face conversations no matter where you are – whether you’re down the street or halfway across the world. “

To get this just make sure you are updated to the latest version of messenger. Tap the video icon on the top right corner. Select the people you want to video chat with and that’s about it.

Its available on Android, IOS and on the desktop version of messenger.

“For when text is not enough.”
