Courtesy of BGR, we now have a good look at the Samsung Galaxy S8. The Samsung Flagship that is awaiting release seems to have a design quite similar to the LG G6 that was just unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
Unfortunately, we haven’t seen any leaked images of the back of the phone. But from what we can see, Samsung have opted for the thinnest, functioning bezels they can on the front. The phone is likely to sport one of Samsung’s signature punchy AMOLED panels. But just like the G6, this panel is curved around the edges.
One, for aesthetic appeal and two, for some added protection. The display does wrap slightly around the sides which further reduces the impression of bezels on the overall look. However, the wrap-around isn’t edge level, apparently. We are likely to see two variants of the S8, the S8 itself and the S8+ with a larger screen and larger battery.
The S8 will have a 5.8-inch diagonal display whereas the S8+ will have a 6.2-inch diagonal display. From what the leaks show, the phone does seem thin. Although not too thin. And that’s not a bad thing necessarily. We do not have exact measurements to compare. But, we have seen enough thin phones to realize a few millimeters don’t really matter if you are getting a bigger battery. It is unclear what material the body will be made of. It appears to have a shiny finish and that might be of concern since with so much curve and rounding off everywhere, the phone might just turn out to be extremely slippery. Lastly, the customary question that needs an answering. Yes, it does have a headphone jack.
We are hoping for a release around the end of March. In the meantime, we might get more leaks so stay tuned.
Thank you android authority and android police for the information and obviously thank you BGR for the leaks.
